Welcome to the first issue of The Single Parent Bible.
This pioneering publication was created by single parents, for single parents. We felt that there was a need for a definitive guide combining fact and fun, specific to us (a whopping 800,000 plus Aussies) and here it is.
Let's face it, there are things that we need to know (such as, the latest word from Centrelink, parenting tips and how to get back in the game i.e. dating), but I also want us to celebrate our single parentdom. Hold our heads high and be proud of who we are and the amazing job that we are tackling (alone).
This doesn't have to be a bad time in your life. Think of it this way - you have joined an exclusive club. A club full of modern day heroes, entrepreneurial minds (see page 8) and remarkable parents. Let's congratulate ourselves on a continued job well done and celebrate our single parent status. Our philosophy here at The Single Parent Bible, is that 'Fabulous is a state of mind'. As a wise woman once said, "Single motherhood rocks!" and I am delighted to be on her team.
